Understanding something logically isn't enough in order a positive action to happen. For example cutting a bad habit , you understand logically , that you should not do this , it's bad for you. Just knowing this isn't enough..We need an extra element , you have to understand this emotionally ,that doing this is not good for you.Then action can occur. The magic moment of change , where it clicks and you just do it. You know exactly why you are doing this. It's phenomenal when it happens.
I am interested second part , first part understanding logically is easy
but emotionally? what are the hidden mechanics to pull to arrive at that stage?
There are couple of ways to arrive that for whatever problem you are having.
1. You are at rock bottom. you cannot basically got any lower ,you are ready to understand this emotionally, you have to nothing to lose anyway.
2. You are sick and tired of it, of the same behaviors you have been doing.
3. A sudden event happened in your life,where you re-order your priorties
4. A good story.
There are many more ,I have only scratched the surface.
