Bringing characters to "life"

A recent fascination of mine is ,asking a large language model(llm)
to emulate characters given the source material where that characters is based upon,it could be the scripts of the tv shows ,movies or the book itself.

I tried this on a tv show called star trek deep space nine,
I fed the llm the source material of it and gave it general instruction to
stay in character giving this source material. It surprised me in a good way
there is potential to it ,I am scratching the surface,there is so much more to this.

This approach could be used for collaborative story writing,
fans extending the source material with the help of llm could explore new scenario's and build upon the source material.

Imagine chain of thought prompting that llm's use to better final output , why not use it for bringing the characters to "life" instructing the model ,to be in the metaphorical shoes of the character. I think something amazing can appear from it.
